The short answer
Two tints can look identical and feel completely different.
Standard tint just makes the glass darker. Ceramic tint stops the heat at the glass, so when the window comes up, the sun on your arm and face goes away. The car can still warm up parked (it's a metal box), but driving feels night and day.
